“As the economy rebounded,
Taiwan did many promotions overseas
for its tourism,” said Michael Chang,
director of the New York Office,
Taiwan Tourism Bureau.

In order to encourage international
travelers to visit Taiwan and reward tour operators offering Taiwan tours, the Tourism Bureau is presenting a large promotion project with a variety of incentives and special offers this year.

The Tourism Bureau’s
four-part plan includes:

I. Super-value stop in Taiwan
Passengers of China Airlines or EVA Airways who plan a stopover in Taipei can, for an extra dollar (US), enjoy a single room and a free breakfast from any of the participating deluxe hotels. This special offer is subject to room availability. Information is available at

The Tourism Bureau welcomes all qualified passengers to take advantage of the
"One-Dollar/Euro" promotion.

II. Free half-day tour
for air passengers transiting in Taiwan

Parties of five or more people with a layover of at least eight hours at Taoyuan International Airport will be offered a free half-day tour of northern Taiwan. Passengers must hold passport valid for at least six months and pass through immigrations.

III. Quarterly tourist giveaway
Travelers who join quality package tours offered by tour operators will receive the following gifts upon arriving in Taiwan.
• SPRING: One Taipei MRT ticket
• SUMMER: One entrance ticket
to selected tourist theme parks
• FALL: One locally-produced gift l
• WINTER: One hot-spring bath voucher

IV. Incentive tours by companies
The Taiwan Tourism Bureau will provide a souvenir, promotional materials, welcome gifts, welcome banner, or cultural performance (depending on the size of the group) for companies or associations related to religions, culture, agriculture or others approved by Tourism Bureau, visiting Taiwan for two nights or more.
